There Remains a Gap Between the Frame
An introduction of: a vision where one may want to exist, living through shared experiences we long for, an eidetic memory. There Remains a Gap Between the Frame takes one on a journey to the other side of ten distinct narratives. Throughout these differing individual expeditions, we navigate our choices to enter, exit, or rather leave a door cracked for the possibility to come back through. Yet occasionally, the door does have to make judgements on its own. As we travel through time, the piece breaks down the personal processes of letting go, moving forward, reflecting, making decisions, learning, connecting with others, and trusting the present moment.
Asking the audience to question and interpret how a door resonates with them. As in life, a door may reveal itself where it can be considered an entity of representation. The door can be an opportunity, a return to comfort, a method to escape, a reason for departure and newness, a moment of reflection, a protective shield, a sign of hope. The door exists as a door, where the little gap that remains between the frame is a constant reminder that there are parts of us that continuously live on both sides.
